KTM introduces SAP as its digital core and produces over 4,000 motorcycles in just one week with the industry solution from All for One Steeb

KTM Group introduces All for Automotive® from All for One Steeb AG / SAP as digital core of the group / Significant increase in production after system conversion to SAP / Introduction of SAP S/4HANA is the next step

Filderstadt, October 10, 2017 - Speed: That's what the KTM Group from Mattighofen in Upper Austria is all about. And the successful company also proved its speed when modernising its IT infrastructure as part of its SAP introduction. In October 2013, Europe's largest motorcycle manufacturer called in All for One Steeb AG to convert the system landscape from Intentia Movex 3 to SAP as the digital core. Previously, SAP had already been successfully introduced at two subsidiaries of the group. Shortly after the system changeover, the company was able to ship the largest quantity of spare parts orders to date. And just a few weeks after the go-live, KTM produced over 4,000 motorcycles in just one week for the first time. On October 12th from 12.00 pm, the KTM Group will report on its experiences and the success factors for the introduction of SAP.

During the introduction of SAP as the digital core, All for One Steeb AG attached great importance to taking the KTM Group's special features into account: A manufacturer of high-quality power sport vehicles does not confront its customers with standstill. Therefore, it was also important during the system changeover to ensure professional operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The newly implemented SAP solution enabled KTM to send out more spare parts orders than ever before after only one day of interruption to ongoing business.

Process optimization along the KTM value chain

KTM benefits sustainably from the conversion to SAP. Processes and structures have been optimized in such a way that the company has exceeded the mark of 4,000 motorcycles produced per week. The entire production, logistics and finance area is now mapped in SAP including GTS (Global Trade Services) and runs as an on-premise solution in KTM's data centers, supported by All for One Steeb. KTM Dealer.net was connected as a business-critical dealer system. There are also innovations in the area of logistics processes: Mobile scanners are now used across the board to provide comprehensive support.

Next step: Everything in real-time - with SAP S/4HANA

SAP serves the KTM Group as a basis for a grown, heterogeneous and scalable system landscape. Absolute transparency in both the flow of quantities and values is now created on a data model. Wolfgang Zwicknagl, Vice President IT & Organization at KTM, is enthusiastic about the SAP possibilities that the group of companies can now use thanks to All for One Steeb AG: "Countless processes were suddenly feasible without paper, but much more efficient and transparent. Further optimization measures are already planned for the near future: "Wherever we are not yet running in real time, SAP S/4HANA will take the next step," Zwicknagl is convinced. "With SAP S/4HANA, we will approach the networking of employees, devices or business networks in real time in the same way as industry-specific IoT scenarios that bring added value to our Group. Together with All for One Steeb AG, we will therefore continue to step on the gas".
