avantum on holiday
As every year, the avantum team was eagerly awaiting this year's avantum on holiday (short: aoh - our internal event for all employees) and was curious to see where it would go this time. The special thing about the aoh: Only on the day of arrival do we find out where we are going. But no matter if Palma de Mallorca, AmsterdamQuickly we put in our absence note and packed our suitcases at home and went to the airport. On our arrival in Berlin we were welcomed by the bright sunshine - the start of the trip couldn't have been better.Our highlight: a big band workshop in the heart of Berlin. After one and a half days of training under the guidance of great musicians we had to put on a concert à la "Big Band". With the goal always in mind, we worked as a team to rehearse four songs on different musical instruments and perform them together. The final concert on our second day in Berlin proved to be a complete success and was celebrated together in the cult club Lidolino. or Gent - there is no question that it will be a great experience.
Of course, the event has to be planned and so every year there is a small circle of insiders who know about the destination and other details in advance and have to keep all information under wraps. The burden of such a secret is understandably heavy on the shoulders. In 2018, for the first time, the organizers accidentally revealed the secret during a Team Meetup one month before the trip. A casual "In Berlin you'll learn more about it" first led to astonished looks and then to an enlightening "aha-moment" in the whole team. But the anticipation was by no means saddened by this.
It can start!

We haven't been able to see that much of Berlin yet, but that should change abruptly on day three: A scavenger hunt across the city was on the agenda. In smaller teams we explored our capital, fulfilled tasks and in between we had a cool beer under a bright blue sky. In the evening, the award ceremony took place in the Restaurant Sage, on the banks of the Spree in Berlin-Kreuzberg. With a delicious 4-course menu we let the evening fade away and reviewed the past days.
Happy and full of new impressions we boarded the plane on the day of departure and dreamed of aoh 2019 during the obligatory nap. Where to next time? This is top secret... at least for now.
