Hospitals in danger

In times of Corona, hackers have a boom. But not only medium-sized companies are the target of the attacks, but also the German health care system.

Unscrupulous blackmailers take advantage of the Corona crisis and attack German hospitals with ransomware. In doing so they endanger human lives. Hospitals have to face a completely new (IT) security situation, just like Fresenius from Bad Homburg, Germany, which is the victim of a cyber attack at the beginning of May 2020 that has brought production to a standstill at some sites. The company affirms that "our production can be continued overall with certain restrictions and that the care of patients in our hospitals and dialysis facilities is also guaranteed at all times. However, company spokesman Steffen Rinas does not comment on the nature and extent of malware. Accusation to the government: lack of support.
